As a Constable you are privately employed by the IRSD but commissioned by the State Board of Examiners of Constables. You have full authority to detain anyone on IRSD property, as long as the full service police agency which has primary law-enforcement jurisdiction is notified.
of Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safety and well being of students, staff, volunteers and visitors and school facilities and assets at the assigned school location. Duties include the supervision and monitoring of students within and outside the school building, enforcing appropriate student behavior, communicating with students regarding issues and/or behavior, escorting students and/or unauthorized visitors, assisting with bus, recess and/or lunch duty, assisting with fire drills, school safety drills, other threats and assisting in the removal from classroom of disruptive students.

Minimum Qualifications:
**Please note that military, State Constable, Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff, any Security Force/or a State Agency or other Governmental Units, Part time or seasonal LEO 's, US Marshall, US Air Marshall, Probation & Parole and Department of Correction experience does NOT qualify as law enforcement experience. Please refer to the Constable Rules & Regulations and the DE Code which can be found on the DSP website
