Salary (Actual Salary): £25,583 - £25,989

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday 25 hours per week Full Time

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to carry out cleaning duties throughout the Academy ensuring the interior of the academy is clean and tidy and managing the on-site cleaning team. As a member of the cleaning team, you will be part of a friendly team creating a clean and tidy working environment for students, staff and visitors.

Your duties will include the cleaning of classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices and any other communal areas. Previous experience and qualifications in the cleaning sector are essential as well as COSHH regulations.

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, able to work as part of a team and committed to making a difference to improving the teaching environment of our students.

The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the academy interior is consistently clean and tidy. Duties involve comprehensive cleaning tasks, including hovering corridors, classrooms, and stairs at appropriate times, and the removal of chewing gum.

You will execute full cleaning of toilets and inspect and tidy student toilets after break and lunch (where relevant). The role includes the regular upkeep of all corridors, walls, and skirting boards, along with cleaning internal glazing and window ledges. Additional responsibilities involve carrying out extra cleaning of rooms during holiday periods and responding promptly and clearly to emergency cleaning calls from academy staff.

Essential requirements include a willingness and ability to obtain and enhance qualifications and training in the post. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, possess an understanding of academy child safeguarding procedures, and relate to students in a pleasant manner. While not essential, experience working in a cleaning environment is desirable.

Knowledge of cleaning equipment, COSHH, basic hygiene, and previous experience in a school environment are all desirable assets for this role. A satisfactory DBS check is required.
