School Cleaner – Part Time

Location: Darwen, Lancashire

Salary: £13.22 to £13.75 p/hr depending on skills and experience

Hours 10 hours per week term time only working Monday to Friday either afternoons 2pm-4pm or mornings 7.30am – 9.30am.

The Aurora Woodlands School is a 'Good' rated innovative provider of education and care, supporting students aged 10 - 19 with complex needs typically related to Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and other conditions.

We’re currently looking for a P art Time Cleaner working Monday - Friday, term time only.

The Role:

Proving a cleaning service for the school across all types of rooms, including offices, classrooms, laboratories, halls, corridors, and toilets.

Key Duties:

  • Duties to include the following:
  • Vacuum cleaning floors.
  • Spot cleaning of spillages.
  • Wiping furniture, ledges, pipes, paintwork, doors and polishing door glass.
  • Emptying and cleaning bins (daily).
  • Cleaning toilets including sanitary fittings and surrounds.
  • Mopping and spray cleaning hard floor surfaces.
  • Wiping, dusting, cobweb removal, polishing.
  • Replenishing janitorial supplies in toilets, etc (daily).
  • Undertake deep clean as and when required.
  • Checking and closing windows, switching off lights after work and ensure the building is secure on exit.
  • Such other duties as may be allocated from time to time.

Part Time School Cleaner

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Some knowledge of Health and Safety Regulation in regards to cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise work and be flexible.
  • Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties.
