ROLE SUMMARY:

The School Business and Enrichment Manager is a finance-driven and analytical role accountable for growing non-tuition revenue, improving profitability and maintaining effective school-level financial controls. The role leads the business planning, financial analysis and organisational oversight of ECAs, trips and camps, line-manages the ECA Coordinator, and ensures accurate local billing information and effective school-level debt follow-through.

Reporting to the Executive Head and Head Office, the postholder manages procurement administration and supports expenditure checks. They analyse financial and operational data, identify trends and risks, and provide clear reporting and evidence-based recommendations, taking ownership of detailed checking, administration and follow-through within agreed authority and Inspired policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Business Planning: Own and manage annual business plans, revenue, and participation targets for ECAs, trips, and camps.
• Team Management: Line-manage the ECA Coordinator, ensuring all bookings, enrolments, and provider paperwork are done on time.
• Financial Analysis: Review activity costings, capacities, and profit margins to improve financial contributions without losing quality.
• Billing Accuracy: Own the school-level charging process for all non-tuition services like catering, transport, and exams.
• Data Integration: Maintain consistent student records and billing codes across all software systems and Head Office.
• Debt Management: Track overdue accounts, issue reminders, and follow up on authorized payment plans.
• Procurement Control: Coordinate school purchasing calendars, check budget availability, and flag overspend risks.
• Expense Supervision: Oversee documentation controls for training expenses, school cards, and petty cash.
• Transport Optimization: Review route utilization and family data to propose opportunities for transport revenue growth.
• Supplier Performance: Monitor service levels and contract compliance for third-party providers like catering and transport.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Education & Experience: Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering (or equivalent) with a background in business management, financial control, or procurement.
• Financial & Billing Skills: Proven experience managing billing controls, debt follow-up, and central finance/procurement workflows.
• Team & Service Leadership: Experience managing staff and a desirable background in education, camps, hospitality, or service industries.
• Data & Tech Proficiency: Advanced Excel/Airtable skills with confidence using database systems (e.g., iSAMS, SOCS, ERPs) to analyze data and build reports.
• Process Improvement: Strong ability to spot data inconsistencies, evaluate supplier performance, and work with IT/Head Office to fix process weaknesses.
• Languages: Business fluency in both English and Portuguese, including strong written communication skills.
• Communication & Discretion: Clear, professional communication style with strict discretion when handling sensitive family financial information.
• Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, and the confidence to challenge discrepancies or escalate issues.
