$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Experienced, Fully Licensed School Bus Drivers*

Experienced drivers who currently hold the required School Bus (S), Passenger (P), endorsements and No Air Brake restrictions (L) may be eligible for the $5,000 sign-on bonus Conditions apply.

As a Part-Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students’ days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available.

No CDL? No experience? No problem! We provide the training and guidance needed to help you earn your CDL and become a safe and professional First Student school bus driver.

School Bus Driver Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $32.40 per hour

Your Day as a School Bus Driver Will Include

• Safely transporting students to and from school and activities

• Supervising boarding and unloading at stops and assisting students as needed

• Maintaining order on the bus to prevent distractions

• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections

• Reporting mechanical issues promptly and keeping the bus clean and sanitary

• Obeying all traffic laws and company safety standards

• Communicating with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays

• Demonstrating leadership and customer service skills

Great School Bus Drivers Often Bring Skills Such As

• Valid Class B CDL with applicable endorsements

• Previous school bus or passenger transportation experience

• History driving with ride-share companies or taxi services

• Previous experience as a teacher, CDL driver, social worker, classroom assistant, hospitality worker, or customer service or retail associate
