What you will do?

This position will assigned to the Aplington-Parkersburg and Dike-New Hartford school districts. As a Therapist you will be responsible for documenting mental health assessments and providing individual therapy. This position will work with school teachers, district administrators, and other team members. The Therapist will act in a leadership role to guide or direct other's professional relationships and services in the appropriate clinical direction.

Clinical Assessments

  • Complete clinical assessments for consumers in an outpatient setting or in assigned schools to assess treatment needs
  • Utilize assessment to determine therapeutic needs and writes order for BHIS services if deemed appropriate
  • Follow the standards set forth by the Agency
  • Understand and utilize defined assessment format and content in assessing all assigned cases

Therapy

  • Assesses treatment needs
  • Prepares and implements a therapeutic treatment plan with input from client, family, and referral source
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use of various treatment techniques
  • Develop and implements a therapeutic agenda for each session
  • Calmly and effectively provides crisis intervention in emergency situations



Qualifications & Program Information

What you need:

To qualify you be must have a Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. A valid Iowa license to practice (LMSW, t-LMHC or t-LMFT) is required. Possession of an Independent licensure is preferred (LISW, LMHC, LMFT).
