Job Description

TITLE: School-Based Technology Contact

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Employee of the Harrison County Board of Education and hold a valid West Virginia professional certificate.
    5 years advanced computer experience preferred.
    Previous network administration experience preferred, working knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OS-X, Mac IOS.
    Working knowledge of installation and configuration of computer peripherals, software, patches and updates.
    Basic experience with instruction of technology related staff development preferred.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must maintain full time status at the school.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and Technology

SELECTION: The position is filled by the Board of Education upon.

SALARY: Per Harrison County Board of Education extra-curricular assignment schedule.

FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Professional and Interpersonal Relations

1. Cooperate with the building principal and county Technology Coordinator.
2. Develop rapport with all staff members utilizing technology.
3. Employ appropriate conduct.
4. Attend county, regional or state meetings/trainings as may be necessary.
5. Motivates staff and students to utilize technology.
6. Command respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior, and language.

Network Administration Areas
1. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the local building level networks.
2. Enters and maintains all users of their school network and all school related applications.
3. Remove graduating students and their folders/directories annually.
                 1. Clean excess files from school level user directories on an annual basis or more frequently if needed.
                 2. Ensure that virus signatures, patches, and updates are kept current on all school computers.
                 3. Ensure that each user has the appropriate security/rights needed.
                 4. Keeps a detailed inventory of all hardware, software, and peripherals within their building.
                 5. Maintains App management for the school.
                 6. Assist teachers with the downloading, installation, and syncing of apps for school owned iPods, iPads, and other slate based computer devices as may be deployed.
                 7. Install and configure teacher/school purchased applications and peripheral.
                 8. Ensure that all students, student teachers, parent volunteers, and network guests have signed the appropriate forms relating to the Harrison County Board of Education
                     Technology Policy, Policy 5601 and keep copies of all signature pages on file.
                 9. Report any infraction of the Technology Policy or any abuse of technology related resources to the building principal and Technology Coordinator.
               10. Serve as the contact person for all E-mail accounts within their building unless otherwise assigned.
               11. Serve as the primary source for technology related training, will provide and/or arrange for technology related training sessions needed by their school staff, and will
                      participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions as directed by the school principal or Technology Coordinator
               12. Serve as the Technology Contact with the County Technology Coordinator unless otherwise assigned.
               13. Serve as the school contact for all technology maintenance and service related issues and is responsible for reviewing and forwarding all technology
                      related work order requests in a timely manner.
               14. Submit a written report on all technology related work orders to the school principal and Technology Coordinator when requested.
               15. Responsible for keeping the Digital Divide Survey up-to-date and accurate as computers and computing devices are added to or removed from their school and
                     for providing all necessary data for E-rate application, along with data fro state and federal reports, to the County Technology Coordinator in a timely manner when requested.
               16. Responsible for ensuring that the building level technology plan is kept current and up to date.
               17. Serve as the school contact for any county, state or federal technology related programs.
               18. Serve as the school contact for any additional technology related programs that may be implemented.
               19. Serve as the school contact for all technology related grants.
               20. Serve as the school contact for all technology related purchases.
               21. Serve as the school contact for all network wiring issues and communicates and coordinates needs with the County Technology Coordinator.
               22. Responsible for alerting network engineers of in-county student/faculty transfers at the school.
               23. Perform such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent or immediate supervisor may from time to time assign.
