Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth and families? As a School-Based Support Specialist, Navigator & Trainer, you'll work directly within local schools to help students overcome challenges, build resilience, and reach their full potential.

In this rewarding role, you'll partner with students, families, educators, and community agencies to provide meaningful behavioral health support that promotes academic success, emotional well-being, and healthy development. What You'll Do

As part of our School-Based Services team, you will:

  • Provide individualized behavioral health interventions that support student treatment goals and overall well-being
  • Help students develop healthy coping strategies, social-emotional skills, problem-solving abilities, and daily living skills
  • Serve as an advocate and navigator by connecting youth and families with school and community resources
  • Collaborate closely with school personnel, families, and community partners to coordinate care and support student success
  • Conduct home visits and outreach activities to strengthen family engagement and remove barriers to services
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention, support, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record
  • Support program quality initiatives, outcome tracking, and compliance activities
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Adapt to the changing needs of students and schools while contributing to a collaborative team environment

What You Bring

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of case management, rehabilitation, and treatment planning in behavioral health
  • Knowledge of challenges impacting youth with mental health and/or substance use needs
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners
  • Strong communication skills, including documentation and de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to manage time effectively and coordinate services across multiple systems
  • Comfort using electronic health records and standard office technology
  • Strong initiative with a commitment to high-quality, person-centered care
  • Ability to respond calmly and appropriately in crisis situations

Education & Experience Requirements

Qualified candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related field; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field plus 2 years of relevant behavioral health experience; OR
  • Any 4-year combination of higher education and 2 years of qualifying experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support; OR
  • 4 years of full-time qualifying experience in mental health, substance use, or developmental disability services*

*Qualifying experience may include:

  • Providing individual or group rehabilitation/recovery services
  • Teaching coping and self-management skills
  • Supporting clients in community, family, or school integration
  • Assisting in the execution of treatment plan goals

Required License/Certification:

  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of mental health/substance use interventions and community resources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, multitask, and work independently
  • Comfortable building rapport with students, families, and school personnel
  • Able to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a school-based setting
