School-Based Mental Health Technician

Location: Scranton, PA

Schedule: Full-time, M-F, school hours. This is a 10-month position.

Caseload: Middle and High School, emotional support

What you’ll do as a Mental Health Technician

Mental Health Technicians provide behavior support to all students within the classroom, support individual behavioral plans and interventions, run daily social-emotional groups, provide direct behavioral instruction, and model appropriate behavior for students experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Services is required
• Strong desire and motivation to work with children/youth with a behavioral/mental health diagnosis
• A minimum of one-year experience working with children with behavioral challenges
• Previous experience as a school-based Mental Health Technician is highly preferred
• Completion of the 40 hour RBT training (3rd edition task list) is highly preferred. A free course can be found through Autism Partnership Foundation.
• Current clearances (within 6 months); Safety-Care certification is a plus
