As a Mental Health Practitioner, you’ll work directly with youth and families in a collaborative school environment—helping students build skills, overcome challenges, and thrive.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual and group skills training in a school-based setting
  • Deliver client-centered mental health services to youth and families
  • Collaborate with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Support students in improving emotional regulation, behavior, and academic success

Key Responsibilities

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with teachers, families, and community providers
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation and communication
  • Advocate for client needs across systems

Client & Family Support

  • Deliver strength-based, trauma-informed care
  • Provide education and resources to families and school staff
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with youth

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete clinical documentation in alignment with billing and regulatory standards
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality, ethics, and reporting requirements
  • Participate in ongoing training and supervision

Requirements

You're a great fit if you:

  • Meet Qualified Mental Health Practitioner criteria (qualifications can be reviewed here)
  • Have strong knowledge of parenting, child development, and family dynamics.
  • Have outstanding communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a heart for working with high-risk youth and families in crisis.
  • Are nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, and have a strengths-based approach.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Travel to schools and service locations as needed.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Comfortable using computers and office equipment for daily documentation and communication.
