School Age Teacher - Before & After School

The Learning Experience - Manassas City, VA

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Part-Time, Monday-Friday, 6:15 AM-9:30 AM and 3:15 PM-6:15 PM

The Learning Experience - Manassas City is seeking an experienced School Age Teacher to create a fun, welcoming environment for children before and after their school day.

This split-shift position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and is looking for consistent weekday morning and afternoon hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage school-age children before and after school
• Plan age-appropriate games, art, activities, and enrichment experiences
• Support homework, reading, and quiet activities as appropriate
• Provide positive guidance and maintain consistent expectations
• Assist children with morning and afternoon transitions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment
• Communicate professionally with families and team members
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous professional childcare experience required
• Experience with school-age children strongly preferred
• Reliable and available for both portions of the split schedule
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position
