School Age Teacher (After School & Summer Camp)
Location: The Learning Experience – Sterling, VA
Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Schedule:

• Part-Time (School Year): 2:00 PM–6:00 PM
  
  
• Full-Time (Summer Camp): 8:30 AM–5:30/6:00 PM
  
  

The Learning Experience – Sterling is seeking an energetic and dependable School Age Teacher to support our after-school program and summer camp. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-aged children and creating a fun, structured environment that balances learning and recreation.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage school-age children in a safe and structured setting
  
  
• Plan and lead activities including homework support, games, STEM projects, and creative play
  
  
• Support children’s social development, teamwork, and independence
  
  
• Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment
  
  
• Communicate with families regarding daily activities and behavior
  
  
• Assist with transitions between school, activities, and pick-up times
  
  
• Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
  
  
• Experience working with school-age children preferred
  
  
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
  
  
• Reliable and able to work consistent afternoon hours during the school year
  
  
• Available for full-time schedule during summer camp
  
  
• Must meet Virginia childcare licensing and background requirements
