This role is responsible for developing high-level production schedules, analyzing constrained versus unconstrained capacity, understanding machining capabilities to offer capacity solutions, and driving future scheduling automation objectives.
· Monitor flow of low mix / high volume production jobs. Includes controlling the flow through bottleneck resources and ensuring minimal disruptions throughout the rest of the supply chain.
· Support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process, aligning demand forecasts with available production capacity.
· Analyze constrained versus unconstrained capacity scenarios to identify bottlenecks and problem solve for optimal outcome.
· Build and maintain capacity planning models incorporating machine hours, labor availability, and tooling constraints.
· Collaborate with Production, Planning, and Program Management to prioritize jobs and resolve scheduling conflicts.
· Maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system, including routings, standard times, and work center capacities.
· Track schedule adherence and analyze root causes of schedule slippage, driving corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline scheduling, planning, and capacity analysis processes.
· Schedule and manage expedite requests in coordination with the sales team.
· Monitor ESB (Electronic Scheduling Boards) and work with Plant managers and Team leaders to maximize scheduling outcome in tandem with setup time reduction.
· Establish AR target and monitor monthly progress to ensure it is met.
· Production Scheduling & Capacity Management
Own high-level production scheduling across machining work centers and analyze constrained versus unconstrained capacity to optimize available resources.
· ERP/MRP Scheduling Management
Maintain accurate scheduling, capacity, and production data within the ERP/MRP system to support effective planning and execution.
· Expedite & Revenue Management
Manage expedite requests, establish and communicate expectations with Sales and Production, and monitor anticipated monthly revenue to identify and prioritize orders needed to achieve targets.
· Master Scheduling Support
Provide backfill and operational support for the Master Scheduler, ensuring continuity of scheduling activities and timely resolution of capacity and production issues.
