
Provides a variety of administrative and general medical secretarial support for providers and other members of the clinic. Serves as a liaison between the physicians and all departments within the organization, patients, attorneys, and the public in general. This should not be regarded as a detailed description of all the work requirements of each position as it varies according to the unique requirements of the physician (s) and practice.
Arranges surgeries, procedures and diagnostic tests with area hospitals and diagnostic facilities based on physician/patient preferences and insurance plan requirements. Arranges pre surgical appointments such as, labs, imaging, and medical clearance requested. Schedules in office procedures, cell therapy, VISCO appointments etc and obtains necessary authorization. Creates Auth/Cert and referrals, pre and post op appointments and obtains pre-certification as required. Schedules peer to peer meetings for insurance approval as well as facilitate information gathering for medical appeals. Manages in basket an voice mail messages.

The Scheduling & Administrative Coordinator (SAC)provides a variety of administrative and general medical secretarial support for physicians of a sub-specialty and other members of the clinic. This role serves as the liaison between the physician and administration, all departments within the organization, patients,attorneysand the public in general.
Essential Functions:
Arranging surgeries and diagnostic tests at area hospitals and diagnostic facilities based on physician/patient preferences and insurance plan requirements.
Scheduling patient education and medical clearance appointments as needed.
Other assigned duties as required by patient flow or physician request.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skill in telephoneprocedure
Knowledge of interrelationship of Clinical Services department.
Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma.
Associate or bachelor'sdegree preferred.
A minimum ofone yearof relatedexperience and training.
An equivalentcombination of training and education will be considered.
Two years of medical transcription experience and knowledge of current medical terminology.
Three to fiveyearsexecutive levelassistanceexperience preferred.
One to two years’ experience in a medical office or hospital environment.
