This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects remain on track through the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and close-out phases.

The Scheduler will work closely with Project Managers, design consultants, contractors, utility providers, and partner agencies to develop integrated project schedules, identify schedule risks, evaluate delays, and provide actionable recommendations to support successful project delivery. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical scheduling expertise, a proactive approach to risk management, and experience supporting public works or capital improvement projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for public works, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects.
  • Create baseline schedules and monitor schedule performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the development and maintenance of integrated program schedules across multiple concurrent recovery and rebuild projects.
  • Analyze project schedules to identify critical path activities, float consumption, schedule constraints, and potential delays.
  • Review contractor baseline schedules, monthly updates, recovery schedules, and time extension requests for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and permitting agencies to gather schedule data and monitor project progress.
  • Prepare schedule narratives, milestone reports, executive dashboards, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates.
  • Assist in evaluating schedule impacts resulting from design changes, permitting delays, utility conflicts, procurement issues, and construction challenges.
  • Support preparation and review of Time Impact Analyses (TIA) and delay evaluations.
  • Perform resource loading, cost loading, and earned value support activities.
  • Track key program milestones and provide early warning notifications regarding schedule risks and potential impacts.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide schedule status updates to project teams and management.
  • Maintain schedule documentation and ensure consistency with project controls and reporting standards.
  • Assist in developing mitigation and recovery strategies to address schedule variances and project delays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of project scheduling experience supporting public capital improvement, infrastructure, facilities, or construction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules from project initiation through close-out.
  • Experience building and maintaining integrated schedules involving multiple concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, schedule development, schedule risk analysis, and project controls principles.
  • Experience reviewing contractor schedules, updates, and recovery plans for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ability to prepare schedule analyses, milestone tracking reports, and executive summaries.
  • Strong understanding of resource loading, cost loading, and earned value management concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present schedule information to project teams and management.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting disaster recovery, resiliency, emergency response, or post-disaster rebuilding programs.
  • Experience working with public agencies, municipalities, counties, transportation agencies, or public works organizations.
  • Familiarity with construction claims analysis and schedule delay evaluations.
  • Certification such as Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), PMP, or equivalent project controls credential.
