
The Scheduler schedules and manages appointments and procedures for the practice. The person in this role insures exams are accurately scheduled, and confirms appropriate authorizations have been received. This position interacts and liaises with other departments to send/process information related to patient exams and care, provides patient education and instructions, and assists with front office duties.
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent - Preferred
Experience:
1 year Healthcare experience - Required
Skills:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent team player, including the ability to work cross functionally in a fast paced environment.
Ability to use standard office equipment including fax, copier, printer, telephone (voicemail) and email systems.
Ability to possess visual capacity and hearing to monitor and use telephone equipment.
Demonstrates ability to navigate computer system for obtaining patient and financial information, and reading emails.
Ability to hand write documentation or to manipulate computer keyboard for documentation input. Must be proficient in computer database and desktop programs.
Proficient in obtaining and organizing information independently and efficiently.
Strong analytical, management, planning, and problem solving skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
Excellent customer service and time management and organizational skills required.
Knowledge of insurance plan payment practices and billing requirements.
Knowledge of insurance health plans, coverage and authorization process preferred.
