Job Description

The scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures for the Cath/EP/Cardioversion Labs. Other responsibilities include assisting physicians and staff as necessary; providing effective communication within the department; maintaining a safe, orderly office environment; training of new scheduling staff.

Qualifications

Education required: High School diploma/GED required

Experience: Previous secretarials/receptionist/customer service role minimum of 2 years experience required.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have above average verbal and written communication skills. Must have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Must be pc computer literate, able to type 50 wpm minimum and have a working knowledge of WordPerfect, Excel and Work applications. Must be able to operate communication systems appropriately (beepers, telephones, fax machines, copiers, etc.). Must be able to organize work load, accomplish goals and objectives, and meet deadlines. Must be able to establish priorities and follow up in problem solving including the ability to adapt to an often stressful and rapidly changing environment. Must have quality orientation and be attentive to detail. Ability to do problem solving and negotiate for positive results with staff and physicians. Absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient records. Ability to accurately meet set monthly deadlines.
