Responsible for obtaining and verifying patient information to facilitate appointment scheduling within clinical services. Ensures complete and accurate data entry to support patient navigation and coordinates scheduling with appropriate providers as directed. Schedules surgical cases and pre-admission testing to optimize resource utilization and workflow. Adheres to organizational mission, goals, and policies while promoting efficient and patient-centered scheduling processes.

Essential Functions

• Schedules patient appointments by phone or mail according to established processes and provider standards.

• Utilizes manual or computerized systems to match physician availability with patient preferences for appointment dates and times.

• Maintains accurate and complete data collection and scheduling records for analysis of patient and staffing patterns.

• Communicates with physicians, clinicians, and staff regarding patient scheduling concerns and consults with the spine nurse navigator on system issues.

• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, team members, administrative liaisons, and other internal and external customers.

• Applies customer service principles and techniques to interact with patients calmly and pleasantly.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience Requirement

2-3 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

All experience must be paid and in the same related field.

Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.

Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
