The primary role of the Natural Gas Scheduler is to manage allfacetsofgathering,processingand/or treating plants and interstate pipeline scheduling onmultipleMPLX gathering& processingsystems and to ensureaccurateand complete accounting of production and gas deliveries. The roleis responsible forforecasting, scheduling and balancing MPLX gathering& processingsystemswith producers, shippers, and interstate pipelines.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Nominates,confirmsand schedules pipelinemovements through use of propriety and third-party schedulingsystems.
  • Work to minimize producer/shipper imbalances on gathering& processingsystems and OBA imbalances on interstate pipelineson a daily basis
  • Coordinates closely with plant operations,producersand pipelines to ensureaccurateinlet and residue flows and ensuresystem balance
  • Provides and communicates allocations
  • Retrieve, compile, input, andmonitorcommodity movements daily into complex excel spreadsheets and the Quorum Gas Scheduling system
  • Ensureaccuratereporting of allocation andimbalanceinformation to internal and external customers
  • Develops subject matterexpertiseon all logistics-based scheduling systems and plans. 
  • Work closely with field and plant operators
  • Work closely with producers, shippers, and interstate pipelinerepresentatives. 
  • Work closely with business developmentand tradersin executing, implementing, andmonitoringcontracts to ensure compliance and penalty avoidance.
  • Beadaptable,decisive, detail oriented, have strong problem solving/analytical skills and strive for process improvement
  • Initiates and coordinates movements independently through Marathon’s distribution channels based on a given plan.
  • Identifiesand communicates constraintsand begins toidentifyoptimization opportunitiesthroughout thewhole system
  • Gains knowledge of the costs of transportation associatedwiththe movements of the systemLearnsthe regionalsupply picture.
  • Additionalreporting duties as needed.

Education and Experience

Scheduler:

  • Bachelor’s degreerequiredorfive(5) years ofschedulingexperience in lieu.

  • Two (2) or more years of industry-related experience
    required

Scheduler Senior:

  • Bachelor’s degreerequiredorfive(5) years ofschedulingexperience in lieu.

  • Four (4) or more years of industry-related experience
    required

Preferred:

  • Self starterwitha strong senseof ownership and accountability for meeting deadlinesand comfortable working in afast-pacedenvironment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data,identifytrends, solve problems, and support sound decision-making.

  • Critically think and problem-solve when managing complex processes and resolving operational issues.

  • Quickly adapt to evolving conditions and goals to support the department’s processes and goals

  • Able toanticipatechallenges, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement with minimal supervision
