Job Description

Job Purpose

Lead schedule integration and baseline control across multiple programmes, owning the Contract Master Schedule (CMS) in Primavera P6/Safran and ensuring high schedule quality. Drive SRA and Monte Carlo analysis, IBR readiness, and executive reporting; manage interfaces with other yards (Appledore, Ferrol, Puerto Real) and enterprise systems (SAP). Provide coaching/mentoring to junior schedulers.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • CMS Ownership & Integration: Consolidate multi-yard schedules into the CMS; standardise calendars, codes, WBS/OBS; maintain logic integrity and critical paths.
  • Baseline & Change Control: Establish and maintain programme baselines; lead Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) and impact assessments; uphold auditable change records per contractual standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply DCMA 14-point (or equivalent) check; remediate open ends, negative float, inappropriate constraints; enforce "ways of working" and professional standards across stakeholders.
  • Risk & IBR Leadership: Plan and run SRA and Monte Carlo analyses; prepare IBR artefacts, conduct readiness reviews, and close findings.
  • Reporting & Governance: Produce weekly exceptions and monthly executive packs (dashboards, trend analysis, KPI narratives) for senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionable insight.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Primavera (P6): Proven and demonstrable experience (mandatory). Valuable: Safran.
  • Risk Analysis: Experience with SRA, Monte Carlo simulations, and related methodologies.
  • IBR: Hands-on involvement in Integrated Baseline Reviews and contractual planning standards.
  • SAP: Working knowledge of SAP relevant to project control/reporting and planning interfaces.
  • Complementary Knowledge: Proficiency with MS Project: Safran experience is a plus (not mandatory). Additional understanding of integrated planning processes and risk analysis methodologies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; or relevant practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in programme scheduling/planning (defence/naval sector preferred)
  • Experience in the defense or naval industry, with familiarity in contractual planning standards and risk management practices.
