About Dinges Fire Company

Dinges Fire Company (formerly E & B Fire and Safety, Inc.) was founded in 2001 by Jeff Bryant, Sr. (current Chief Operating Officer), Lonny Eisenberg, Lane Eisenberg, and Shauna Dinges. Jeff and Lonny were firefighters with a dream of providing a service to local fire departments in northern Illinois. Six months after E & B’s inception, Nick Dinges and Bill Shaw partnered with the firm. The business began in a house along Route 52 in Amboy but within a year, it had moved into a small office in town.

E & B’s Sales grew with its expanding territory in Illinois and it began to do business as the Illinois Fire Store. IFS remodeled the old Dickinson’s Hardware Store at 243 E. Main Street in downtown Amboy and then moved its headquarters there. Dinges Fire Company now calls this office its Global Headquarters.

In 2011, Illinois Fire Store, was purchased by Nick Dinges, after being a partner in the company for 10 years, and the organization was restructured for growth and scale.

In 2017, Dinges Fire Company acquired Time Emergency Equipment in Michigan and Safety First in Wisconsin. These acquisitions grew its footprint to four states in the Midwest and doubled the size of its team to nearly 30 members. During 2017, the firm also began developing product lines such as LeatherheadMetals.com and VanguardSafetyWear.com.

Over the past 12 months, Dinges Fire Company has quietly become the leader in fire equipment distribution in the Midwest. This success is due, in part, to record sales and aligning itself with the absolute best brands in the industry including Lion Protective Clothing, Bullard, Drager, Amkus Rescue Systems, Task Force Tips, Bulldog Fire Hose, and over 200 other fantastic fire service brands.

Today, Dinges Fire Company’s team has grown to 75 team members across seven states: Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Minnesota.
