Assist in scheduling and dispatching aggregate deliveries. Provide customer service with face-to-face interaction and over the phone. Tickets and weighs trucks in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full time, seasonal position with a winter layoff and a spring recall. Typical hours during production are M-F 7am-5pm.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

  1. Assist with scheduling and dispatch workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
  2. Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
  3. Answering the phone.
  4. Confer with customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
  5. Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
  6. Monitor personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
  7. Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
  8. Prepare daily work and run schedules.
  9. Receive or prepare work orders.
  10. Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
  11. Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field inspectors using telephones or two-way radios.
  12. Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
  13. Assist with cleaning scale house including the restrooms.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES (types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily)

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Strong organizational skills.
  3. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  4. Able to work independently and under time constraints.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

  1. High school diploma or General Education Degree required.
  2. Ability to use basic office equipment, including computer, fax machine, photocopier and 10-key calculator.
  3. Valid driver’s license preferred.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS (preferred requirements i.e. certifications, software use, etc.)

  1. Knowledge of Apex, a plus.
