The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Scale Clerk to work at our Burroughs North Wallce Stone location in Bay Port, MI The Scale Clerk weighs trucks and performs basic recordkeeping and customer functions.
Pay: $19.50 Shift/Schedule: Day Shift: Monday-Friday, some Saturdays as needed

ResponsibilitiesThe Scale Clerk will:

• Weigh incoming and outgoing trucks while adhering to state weight restrictions
• Communicate effectively over CB radio and handheld two-way radio
• Deliver customer service excellence via telephone, radio, e-mail, face to face, or other means
• Provide directions and assistance to customers and drivers
• Process paperwork, enter information and create standardized reports
• Support the site in the function of time and attendance tracking and mobile equipment fuel/hour reporting
• Handle cash sales
• Keep the work area clean and tidy
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

SkillsThe ideal candidate will have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to Lift up to 25 lbs.
• Knowledge of scale operations
• Knowledge of local geography, truck routes and weight laws (desired, but willing to train)
• Good organizational, decision making and time management skills
• Ability to work in fast paced environment while managing competing priorities
• Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, Command and Oracle a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format individually and in group settings
• Must be willing and able to travel locally and work in a construction environment
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed
