The role

As a Scaffolder, you'll be responsible for delivering scaffolding services that enable maintenance, inspection and engineering activities across the Clyde estate. Working alongside skilled engineering teams, you'll play a vital role in supporting planned preventative maintenance, repairs and modifications that keep critical assets operational. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, develop your expertise in advanced scaffolding systems and become part of a team making a meaningful contribution to national defence.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Carrying out scaffolding operations using tube and fitting systems and recognised scaffold products.
  • Constructing, modifying and dismantling Cuplock and advanced scaffolding structures.
  • Supporting engineering teams to deliver planned preventative maintenance and repair activities.
  • Inspecting and maintaining scaffold installations to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity and working practices.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde, Faslane. Overtime opportunities are available across a four-day working week and weekends.

Essential experience of the Scaffolder:

  • Experience delivering scaffolding services in support of engineering, maintenance or industrial operations.
  • Experience working with tube and fitting scaffolding systems.
  • Experience using recognised system scaffolding products, including Cuplock systems.
  • Experience carrying out scaffold inspections, maintenance and modifications.
  • Experience working safely within regulated industrial, construction, engineering, defence or infrastructure environments.

Qualifications for the Scaffolder:

  • Advanced Scaffolder (Blue Card).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
