Job Description

INTECH Process Automation is seeking a skilled Scaffolder to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the safe erection, alteration, inspection support, and dismantling of scaffolds in accordance with approved designs, manufacturer requirements, and site procedures. Ensure safe access and working platforms for instrumentation, ICSS, maintenance, and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Erect scaffolding, platforms, access systems, and temporary structures according to approved requirements.
  • Install and maintain ties, bracing, guardrails, toe boards, ladders, and safe access points.
  • Ensure scaffolds have proper foundations, stability, alignment, and support.
  • Modify or extend scaffolds only in accordance with approved instructions and site requirements.
  • Dismantle scaffolds safely using approved sequence, methods, and exclusion controls.
  • Maintain safe working platforms, access, edge protection, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure scaffold components are serviceable, correctly assembled, and free from damage or defects.
  • Coordinate scaffold requirements with Instrumentation, ICSS, Construction, Operations, HSE, and other work crews.
  • Support scaffold inspection, tagging, and release by the authorized Scaffolding Inspector.
  • Control and safely handle scaffold materials, tools, and components.
  • Report defective components, unsafe conditions, unauthorized modifications, or access restrictions.
  • Maintain required scaffold records, tags, checklists, and work documentation.
  • Comply with Company requirements, approved scaffolding procedures, PTW, HSE, working-at-height, and site safety rules.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Valid recognized scaffolding trade/competency certificate for the assigned grade and task.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as a Certified Scaffolder.
  • Proven competency in scaffold erection, alteration, dismantling, and safe access systems.
  • Experience with platforms, ties, bracing, guardrails, toe boards, ladders, and edge protection.
  • Knowledge of scaffold stability, foundations, load limitations, and safe working practices.
  • Experience working in Oil & Gas, process plants, or other high-risk industrial environments.
  • Ability to follow approved scaffold designs, drawings, instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong awareness of working-at-height, dropped-object, material handling, and exclusion-zone controls.
  • Good coordination with Scaffolding Inspectors, Construction, HSE, Instrumentation, ICSS, Operations, and contractors.
  • Valid site authorization and task-specific certification where required.
