Are you ready to be part of a collaborative, innovative, and purpose-driven engineering team? At Hitachi Energy, we’re looking for a SCADA Testing Engineer to join our Substation Automation Systems unit, where you will contribute to the digital transformation of the world’s power systems.

As part of our Grid Automation business, you’ll work in a global engineering environment delivering high‑quality automation solutions that keep the world’s energy systems reliable and resilient. You will collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines and be part of a team that values learning, teamwork, and real impact.

How you will make an impact

  • Execute testing activities for Protection & Control IEDs, cabinets, and SCADA/RTU systems.

  • Prepare and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, control and protection engineers, and customers to ensure high‑quality project delivery.

  • Troubleshoot and validate communication protocols (such as IEC 61850, DNP3, or Modbus) used within our automation solutions.

  • Document testing procedures, results, and deviations, contributing to continuous improvement.

  • Support global projects, working alongside a world-class engineering community that shares best practices and expertise.

  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety requirements, helping us deliver reliable and future-proof automation systems.

Your background

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.

  • Experience in SCADA, RTU, or Substation Automation Systems, ideally using industry-standard communication protocols.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Windows environment.

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (additional languages are a plus).

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with colleagues and customers.

  • A proactive team player who can also work independently and perform under pressure.

  • A structured and detail-oriented mindset, with motivation to learn and grow within a global organization.
