About the role

Reporting to the Energy Solutions Technology Manager, you'll play a critical hands-on technical role within the EV charging network, supporting the operation and lifecycle management of SCADA systems and associated communication networks across our charging infrastructure. You will help ensure the availability, reliability, and security of operational technology systems supporting DC and AC chargers, batteries, solar, and other DER assets, while working closely with internal teams and external vendors to support system changes, maintenance, and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Energy Solution SCADA system and its communication network, both software and hardware

  • Ensure delivery of historical data.
  • Maintain and exercise business continuity plans including disaster recovery drills.
  • Maintain SCADA functional and technical documentation.
  • SCADA applications support
  • Advanced alarm management
  • Incident investigations support (alarm and event data)
  • Advanced reporting for ES assets

Manage design, build and implementation of SCADA systems changes

  • Perform & deploy operational updates to SCADA system, databases, displays and configuration.
  • Provide advice on SCADA system capabilities.
  • Project support

Management of routine system maintenance such as patching, data preservation, system security, and disaster recovery plans

  • Supervise maintenance of SCADA infrastructure including the communications network down to the instrumentation interface

Manage the DCS and SCADA maintenance contracts.

  • Support, guide and supervise internal and external specialists and support providers including Business units, Technology Digital Data teams, SCADA vendor, hardware & communications services.

  • System architecture drawings
  • Network Diagrams
  • Alarm System Philosophy document

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering degree and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5 Years plus experience with SCADA, control and network systems.
  • Experience with designing/developing/operating SCADA solutions for distributed assets such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, MQTT is essential
  • IT experience in process control with business systems interface
  • Stakeholder management, particularly involving third parties.
  • Management of change control procedures in a process control environment.
  • Project management experience is beneficial but not a requirement.
  • Analytical Process Techniques: Works with full competence to apply appropriate analytical processes and procedures to support research schedules. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance
  • Research Methods: Works with full competence to apply appropriate method, tools, processes and software to execute research activities. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.
  • Engineering Technical Operations Support: Works with fill competence to identify, diagnose and resolve operational problems through the development of engineering outcomes. Typically works without supervision and may provide technical guidance.

Location

This role is preferably based in Sydney; however, Brisbane or Melbourne may be considered for the right candidate.
