Under the general direction of the SCADA Analyst II, this position is responsible for the technical work related to development, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems at various locations throughout the Water Utility System. This position is responsible for analyzing, modifying and writing computer programs utilizing Invensys Wonderware Human Machine Interface (HMI), Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Step Seven, and Ladder Logic/Function Block, as well as other computer programming protocols. A SCADA Analyst I is responsible for modifying existing programs to reflect changing requirements in system or equipment configuration and assists in determining the cause of computer system, program and operating malfunctions.
Associate’s degree in computer science, electronics, or a related field or Military technical schooling and training in electronics with two (2) years of experience in an instrumentation/SCADA/PLC programming (Siemens or Allen-Bradley) or HMI screen development, or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an instrumentation/PLC/HMI/SCADA or an equivalent amount of education and hands on experience may substitute.
For positions requiring the operation of City vehicles, must possess a valid current Florida driver's license, or be able to acquire one within 45 days of hire. HMI and PLC certifications are preferred, but not required. Previous experience in a computerized maintenance management system preferred.
The work is generally medium and may require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 30 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
