About the job

Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi’s Business Transformation organization, is setting up a new captive Business Services centre in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services.

With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services centre will be covering the following areas of the process:

  • Assets Management
  • Tax and Interco accounting
  • Treasury accounting
  • GL accounts closing and reporting

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Deliver GL monthly closing & reporting services to SBS
  • Perform monthly closing activities as per Group timetable
  • Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels
  • Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
  • Deliver operational KPIs and comply with Sanofi policies and guidelines
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

The Senior Closing & Reporting Accountant reports to A2R Closing & Reporting Lead and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control...), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.

Operation:

  • Deliver GL monthly closing & reporting services to SBS
  • Review interfaces that generate automatic postings to ensure that they have been correctly booked, AR & AP sub-ledgers are closed and close Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
  • Request & collect all recurring and non recurring items, reconcile accounts and post Manual Journal Entries (MJE)
  • Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis
  • Contribute to business reviews
  • Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements
  • Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs
  • Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user
  • Pro-actively anticipate operational issues and coach junior analysts
  • Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to GL monthly closure and reporting activities

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities
  • Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition

About you

Education:

  • Diploma in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration

Experience:

  • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential)
  • Hands on expertise in GL accounting, closing & reporting processes and activities (essential)
  • Knowledge of GL accounting and reporting (essential)
  • Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous)
  • Good business acumen (advantageous)

Soft skills:

  • Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (advantageous)

Technical skills:

  • Hands-on experience of SAP FICO (essential) and other accounting related IT tools (e.g. Trintech Cadency) (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel (essential)

Language:

  • Fluent English is mandatory (written and verbal)

The salary range for this position is Ft9 120 000,00 - Ft12 160 000

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
