The SBIRT Clinician will work with an integrated team of professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and behavioral health staff. SBIRT refers to Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. It is an evidenced-based practice used to identify, reduce & prevent problematic alcohol and drug use. We are seeking a collaborative, energetic, team-oriented, creative individual to provide substance use and mental health screenings, brief intervention, brief therapy, and referral to services for adult patients at Warren Memorial Hospital. The SBIRT Clinician will assess patients’ behavioral health needs and provide brief intervention in the Emergency Department and other hospital departments, will provide brief therapy (e.g., 4-6 sessions) for patients in need of additional support, and refer patients who need more intensive treatment to local resources. The SBIRT Clinician will enhance behavioral health integration into Winchester Medical Center, and will ensure that the mission and health care goals of collaboration are effectively integrated into the health care system. Provide behavioral health consults on medical floors at Warren memorial under the BHS medical team, provide telehealth interventions to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and Page Memorial Hospital. This position is funded by grant from George Mason University’s VA-SBIRT Program.
Education
Masters Behavioral Health Field required
Experience
3 Years Behavioral Health prefer Supervisory Experience
Prior clinical supervision required
Certification & Licensures
LCSW or LPC required
Qualifications
Demonstrated strengths of personal integrity, self-confidence required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Prior academic or practical training in motivational interviewing, cognitive- behavioral therapy or Brief Therapy/Crisis Intervention, preferred.
Experience working in a medical setting preferred Experience working with electronic health records preferred
Ability to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends required
