Assists SBA (Small Business Association) Loan Officers in a variety of duties. Interacts with SBA customers, SBA Loan Officers, and Loan Processing personnel to complete a variety of tasks associated with the origination of SBA loans and the servicing of existing SBA loans. Assures tasks are completed accurately, timely and professionally to ensure prompt and professionals service to internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Obtains information related to the loan origination process including ordering credit reports, UCC searches, IRS 4506, appraisals, preliminary title reports, insurance information, flood certificates, Secretary of State searches and various other items;
- Assists SBA lender with SBA loan prospects, communication, collection of required underwriting data, financial information, and loan closings;
- Maintains clear communication and documentation with third party vendors;
- Answers SBA loan customer phone calls and assists customers with routine inquiries regarding payoffs, changes of ownership, note modifications, beneficiaries, and other loan details;
- Review SBA loan approval documents and determine next steps to close loan in accordance to Bank and SBA policies. Coordinate SBA loan closings by communicating with SBA Loan Officer, Loan Operations, and borrower from the beginning of the loan process to closing;
- Assists in the preparation of disbursement worksheets, loan documentation checklists, and other communications necessary to properly document the credit files;
- Review all draw requests (construction or non-construction) to ensure proper loan availability and proper use of proceeds per SBA loan approval. Communicate with 3rd party construction monitoring service as necessary;
- Ensures that all loan documentation and customer information is scanned into the core system in a timely manner;
- Ensures that all liens, including deeds of trust and notice of liens are filed in a timely matter in order to protect the Bank’s lien on collateral;
- Assists SBA loan officer in ensuring that all loan-related compliance is followed, including HMDA and CRA;
- Receives tracking reports and ensures that outstanding issues regarding title policies, vehicle titles, appraisals and appraisal checklists, construction inspections, site inspections, life insurance, etc. are properly received, documented, and cleared from the report;
- Completes various clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, faxing documents, scanning loan files and organizing and maintaining supplies; and assisting in various department projects such as file reviews and other projects as needed in the department;
- Acts as liaison between SBA loan officers and loan processing department; and,
- Post-Closing responsibilities include proper booking of loan, disbursement of all loan proceeds in accordance with the SBA guidelines, ensuring all liens are perfected, following up on title policy, ensuring that loan file is fully documented and in order.
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively work with colleagues and on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes;
- Effective oral and written communication skills;
- Good customer service skills;
- Knowledge of general banking policies/procedures; and,
- Knowledge of SBA SOP requirements and procedures preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; and,
- Highly attentive to detail and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma; and,
- Previous experience in customer service or loan administration;
