SVP / Government Guaranteed
Lender

National lending opportunity. Excluding CA, TX, and FL.

Reports To: Director of Gov Gty Lending

Department Name: Lending

The Commercial Lending Officer is responsible for maintaining, developing, and managing a commercial and SBA loan portfolio and promoting the Bank’s products and services in the community. The Lender is responsible for maintaining their business relationships with current and
future clients and providing world class customer service to bank clients.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field from an accredited 4 year institution preferred.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial institution sales environment preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent customer service and communications skills- written and verbal
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently without constant and direct supervision in a team environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products suite
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, and activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing tasks and time allocation.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Must have high level analytic skills, underwriting skills, and banking knowledge.
  • Must be proficient in use of Bank systems.
  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate records.
  • Must be able to function in a team-based environment and work collaboratively with other areas of the Bank to accomplish objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

      • Standing, working at computer, and sitting for long periods of time. (sitting, talking,
        hearing)
      • Limited Travel 10-20% (may require driving)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and establish new referral sources through a variety of networking, sales and marketing efforts.
  • Manage individual pipeline to maximize relationship between the Bank and the customer by delivering providing first class customer service.
  • Collect and analyze customer financials to determine the financial condition and operating trend of the borrower as well as identify potential risk.
  • Proactively enter and manage data into the Bank CRM system to maximize the customer experience by proactively.
  • Guide borrowers through the loan process by obtaining all borrower required documents, providing borrowers with regulatory disclosures and provide underwriters
    with follow up items as needed.
  • Manages risk through adherence to all Bank policies and procedures, demonstrating sound judgment within established limits.
  • Prepare management reports monthly as needed or as requested.
  • Work with borrowers to resolve questions regarding loan applications and financial information provided by the customer.
  • Ensure that loan document files are complete, accurate and adhere to Bank policy.
  • Partner with the team members to do the following:
    • Monitor portfolio and collateral for potential deterioration in credits and act proactively
      to identify and resolve issues.
    • Address exceptions, past dues, and maturities prior to or as they occur. Work to resolve any issues
    • Collect SBA specific documentation to assist in gaining SBA approval
    • Identify and document potential problems with a relationship or exceptions as they occur.
    • Manage portfolio exceptions and resolve any past payments, past due information requests and
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines including BSA, OFAC, Fraud Prevention, Anti-Money
    • Laundering regulations and any other related regulations.
    • Complete all required training sessions related to these regulations.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
