About the Role

Prep With Purpose. Feed Something Bigger.

This is a production kitchen role where consistency, speed, and food safety are everything.

Responsibilities

Pre-Opening

  • Complete onboarding and training prior to the Paradise Valley opening
  • Learn Too Sweet Cakes' savory menu standards, recipes, and production specifications
  • Assist with kitchen setup, workflow development, and production readiness for the launch
  • Help establish prep procedures and quality benchmarks alongside the Savory Lead

Food Preparation & Production

  • Prepare savory menu items to company recipe standards and quality specifications
  • Produce at the volume and pace required to meet daily Paradise Valley delivery needs
  • Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, and preparation every day
  • Follow all prep lists, production schedules, and daily priorities as directed
  • Adapt to changes in volume, menu, or production priorities with flexibility

Quality & Food Safety

  • Inspect ingredients and finished items for quality before they leave the Phoenix kitchen
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
  • Label, package, and store all prepared items correctly for transport to Paradise Valley
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace throughout every shift
  • Communicate ingredient quality concerns or production issues to the Savory Lead promptly

Operations & Coordination

  • Work within the production schedule to ensure Paradise Valley delivery deadlines are consistently met
  • Assist with receiving and organizing ingredient deliveries — verify against orders and flag discrepancies
  • Restock prep supplies and communicate inventory needs proactively
  • Support a clean and efficient handoff at shift end

Requirements

  • Comfortable in a production kitchen environment with volume and daily deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
  • Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation — ServSafe certification a plus
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Monday – Friday availability required; FT and PT schedules available
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (eligible full-time employees)
  • Employee product discounts

About Too Sweet Cakes

Every great story starts with a dream—and ours began with a simple one: to create pastries that not only tasted incredible but made people feel cared for.

Too Sweet Cakes was founded in 2016 by Shelbi Geyer, whose love for baking started as a young girl, sketching cake designs and dreaming of one day opening her own bakery. That dream stayed with her, fueled by a passion for creativity, connection, and a belief that food could be something truly meaningful.

What started as a small wholesale bakery quickly grew into something more. In 2018, we opened our first storefront in Bend, Oregon, creating a space where pastries weren’t just desserts—they were memories in the making. From there Too Sweet Cakes expanded to Lake Oswego, and today, we proudly operate four retail locations across Oregon and Arizona, with a fifth location opening in 2026 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

Beyond our storefronts, you’ll find Too Sweet Cakes pastries featured in over 100 locations across Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. It’s been an incredible journey—one made possible by the extraordinary team who has brought their talents, heart, and dedication into every part of the business.

Our team of bakers, decorators, and visionaries are the heartbeat of Too Sweet Cakes. Together, we share a mission that’s never changed: to love people well through pastries.

As we continue to grow, we remain rooted in the values that sparked it all—creativity, community, and a deep love for making people feel special. We are so grateful to every customer, partner, and community who has supported our journey—and we can’t wait to celebrate even more sweet moments with you, one bite at a time.
