What to Expect:
As a General Manager for our Savannah, GA UPS Operation, you will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of all airside activities, ensuring the safety and security of personnel and cargo operations. This will include the loading and unloading of cargo from UPS aircraft, sorting, and loading to UPS trucks with and without mechanical assistance. You’ll lead day to day operations, service, and team performance, directing both AM and PM teams. Most importantly, you’ll create a great place to work for your team.
How you will make an impact:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations, monitoring performance against plan and initiating corrective actions to improve results.
- Ensures compliance with safety requirements, including security checkpoint and GSC responsibilities.
- Sets a positive example for station team to ensure excellent customer service.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment, strong employee relations, and collaborative relationships.
- Solicits customer feedback to understand needs and opportunities.
- Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or irregular operations.
- Provides coaching and direction to the station team to achieve operational goals.
- Manages the operations budget, staffing forecasts and resource requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining facilities, equipment, and professional appearance standards for all UGE employees.
- Responsible for compliance and Internal Audit standards
- Maintains strong working relationships with OAL / airport authorities / vendors / governmental authorities (FAA / TSA / CBP)/internal divisions.
- Manages vendor service contracts as required.

- Must possess and maintain a valid US state driver's license. (Suspended, expired, revoked, or denied licenses are not valid.)

- Must be flexible to work all shifts and, when necessary, available 7 days a week / 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends, to deal with any operational and /or unforeseen situations.
- Previous service or operational experience required.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
Preferred Operational Experience
- Experience operating ground handling equipment for the loading and unloading of cargo aircraft and from aircraft to other assigned locations.
- Experience using various types of equipment including but not limited to deck loaders, belt loaders, tugs, and forklifts.
Education
- College Degree or equivalent work experience required.
ADA Specifications
- Ability to operate a computer to enter and retrieve data.
- Ability to utilize radio equipment for communications.
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs on a consistent basis.
- Ability to pass all pre-screening clearances applicable to position qualifications.
