Location: Thunder Mountain Middle School

Hourly Temporary Position (less than 15 hours a week)

The Juneau School District is seeking a responsible and organized individual to serve as a Saturday School Monitor. This position provides supervision and academic support for students assigned to Saturday School and helps ensure a structured, productive, and respectful learning environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with middle school students and supporting positive student behavior and academic success.

Position Summary: The Saturday School Monitor is responsible for overseeing students participating in Saturday School as an alternative educational setting for disciplinary purposes. Responsibilities include:

• Supervising students during Saturday School sessions.
• Maintaining a safe, structured, and productive learning environment.
• Receiving weekly student rosters from school administration.
• Communicating with teachers to obtain assignments and instructional materials.
• Monitoring student behavior and reinforcing district expectations.
• Supporting student accountability and academic progress during assigned sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures related to student behavior and discipline.
• Understanding of the developmental needs, issues, and concerns of middle school students.

Compensation: This is a non-permanent, hourly position with an as-needed weekly schedule during the school year. This position is not eligible for benefits. Pay starts at $15.00 an hour.
