OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Saturday Band Coach is a music educator who teaches a music enrichment class for elementary and middle school students on Saturday mornings at Notre Dame High School. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, enthusiastic, creative teacher who has experience teaching in an elementary and/or middle school setting. The Instructor will prepare students for the annual Christmas Program in December and a concert in Spring. The Saturday Band Coach reports to the Band Director. The nine month part-time position requires working on Saturday mornings from 8:30am-11:00am  from late August thru May. Their responsibilities include:
- Prepare appropriate weekly music instructional plans including objectives, planned activities, assessments and resources, incorporating classroom technology to enhance instruction.
- Include a variety of musical forms, and appreciation for music from diverse cultures.
- Works with local Catholic and Public Elementary and Middle schools programs to recruit students for Saturday Band Program.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, parents and band staff.
- Effectively manage classroom to provide a positive classroom environment conducive to learning,
- Works with the Band Director and administration so that content on the school website and other social media is of the best quality and effective for the promotion of the program and the School.

Qualifications
- B. A. in Music Education or related field, M.A. in Music Education or related field preferred.
- Willingness to work on Saturday mornings.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise elementary and middle school band.
- Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with parents.
- High-level of familiarity and competence across cultures and multiple perspectives.
- Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational practices aligned with Notre Dame's Holy Cross Catholic mission.
