Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Tb&S (Testbed and Simulation) Software is seeking a highly motivated Systems Integration and Test Engineer with interest in maintaining and supporting flatsat test asset activities in Assembly, Integration, and Test and Operations. This position will support Space Development Agency (SDA) programs: Tranche 2 Beta, Tranche 2 Tracking, and Tranche 3.

The Systems Integration and Test Engineer will support the testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of the Flatsat testbed. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands on work, solving complex hardware/software issues, and creating clear technical documentation for internal and external users.

Core Responsibilities:

• Execute test procedures on the Flatsat, diagnose anomalies, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist the Lead Engineer with integration activities, hardware swaps, and configuration changes.
• Write and maintain operational, configuration, and user documentation (SOPs, test plans, maintenance guides).
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to ensure test readiness and data integrity.
• Participate in post test reviews, capture lessons learned, and suggest improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of hands on experience supporting Flatsat, HIL, or ground test hardware (including internships).
• Proven ability to execute test procedures, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and resolve problems on site.
• Strong technical writing skills; experience producing clear, concise documentation for engineers and customers.
• Working knowledge of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers) and interface protocols (MIL STD 1553, CAN, Ethernet, UART).
• Active Secret clearance.

Desired Skills

• Project or team lead experience on small scale test projects.
• Coursework or project experience with embedded C/Python, or model based design.
• Familiarity with requirement traceability tools (Cameo, Jama, DOORS) or basic MBSE concepts.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, or Python for data acquisition and analysis.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
