TITLE: SAT (Student Assistance Team) Coordinator
REPORTS TO: The Principal or his/her designee, Office of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To facilitate student support by maintaining a Multi-Tiered System of Support and coordinating the School Assistance Team process by setting student achievement goals and monitoring progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
• Demonstrate Leadership Qualities.
• Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely with correct grammar and spelling.
• Ability to make sound, rational recommendations.
• Currently employed at the School.
• Have knowledge and experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and the SAT process.
• Any combination of training and experience which would lead to successful employment as a SAT coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Provide assistance in the selection of materials and interventions.
• Facilitate staff development according to county policy.
• Works effectively with all segments of the school community.
• Attends and provides staff development trainings pertinent to the MTSS/SAT process.
• Aids parents, faculty, and student groups in advising educational and MTSS objectives.
• Serves as the MTSS/SAT contact person for all school personnel at the building level.
• Provides guidance on MTSS to the school community including families.
• Processes all SAT referrals at the building level.
• Sets up all SAT meetings with principal, counselors, teachers, students, and parents.
• Maintains open communication with all teachers regarding MTSS/SAT matters at the building level.
• Leads SAT meetings when appropriate.
• Disseminates appropriate paperwork to facilitate SAT referrals.
• Maintains an up-to-date SAT log of all referrals.
• Develop and manage SAT plans, set goals, and track progress.
• Attend department and/or leadership meetings.
• Analyze student performance on screeners, benchmark assessments, and standardized tests
• Maintain professional work habits.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, or Office of Special Education.
• Adheres to established laws, policies, rules and regulations including confidentiality of student records.
