T he School of Applied Sciences and Arts within the College of Integrative Arts and Sciences on the Downtown Phoenix campus of Arizona State University invites applications to establish a pool for Science Faculty Associates for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one-semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of 0.40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

ASU's School of Applied Sciences and Arts, part of the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, advances experiential and integrative learning, with a focus on applied sciences and mathematics, interdisciplinary humanities and social sciences. Degrees include applied biological sciences with pre-veterinary medicine and pre-dental concentrations — offered at just a handful of universities across the country — as well as a sustainable horticulture concentration. Essential Functions:

• Plan and create lectures, class discussions, and assignments
• Deliver excellent in-class instruction
• Answer emails and other communications from students in a timely manner
• Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams. Provide timely and substantive feedback on student assessments
• Post grades prior to ASU deadlines

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Science or a related science field at time of appointment
• Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
• Demonstrated commitment to values expressed by the ASU Charter

Desired Qualifications:

• Terminal Degree in Science or related field at time of appointment
• Evidence of effective teaching
• Two semesters teaching experience in a post-secondary environment
• Experience teaching in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously) and with online homework systems
