The IT Application Owner is overall accountable for application and/or infrastructure asset instances. ITAO Manages and maintains the application ensuring compliance with applicable IT policies & procedures with specific consideration to IT Management and Information Security policies.

Your key responsibilities
The IT Application Owner holds end‑to‑end accountability for assigned application and infrastructure assets. The role ensures that all application activities comply with relevant IT policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on IT Management and Information Security standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining the application across its lifecycle while ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.
- Setting up and overseeing various environments for development, testing, and production.
- Implementing, upgrading, and maintaining system hardware and application software.
- Leading discussions with Business stakeholders to gather and refine new requirements.
- Coordinating with Vendors on product implementation, customization, and enhancement efforts.
- Overseeing the delivery of application releases and defect resolutions.
- Providing guidance to junior team members and supervising their work where appropriate.
Task breakdown
- Ensure full compliance of the application with Deutsche Bank’s IT policies and procedures.
- Onboard the application onto Deutsche Bank’s IT Risk and Control tools.
- Interface with internal and external auditors during IT audits.
- Identify IT Risk and Control gaps based on application knowledge and established policies.
- Remediate IT audit findings and address all IT Risk and Control issues.
- Maintain accurate and updated application documentation as required by Deutsche Bank’s QMS processes.
- Conduct strategic application planning and oversee the application lifecycle management.
- Initiate, lead, and manage technical projects to deliver required business services and meet service-level commitments.
Your skills and experience
- Strong understanding of system design, development, implementation, and user‑support principles and practices.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and associated best practices.
- Solid knowledge of application architectures and the fundamental concepts of software interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with IT Service Management processes and ServiceNow tools.
- Proficiency in Java and J2EE development, along with deployment experience in enterprise environments.
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools and practices used for automation and continuous delivery.
- Understanding of IT Risk and Control frameworks, as well as core IT Security principles.
Qualifications
- Engineering graduate from a recognized university (or equivalent diploma in Computer Science).
- Over 15 years of ITAO experience in software application management, preferably in banking sector.
- Fluency in the English language.
