SAP Technical Release & DevOps Expert

We are looking for a Technical Release & DevOps Expert with SAP ALM expertise and a hands-on background in ABAP and SAP Fiori/UI5 to join our team.

This role supports reliable and compliant releases across SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the DevOps toolchain, automation, and delivery quality in close collaboration with development, testing, and IT Operations teams.

The ideal candidate is comfortable leveraging modern AI-powered tools, including GenAI-enabled innovation, to drive continuous improvement.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Release Management Support

• Support technical Release Management for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP across program and run phases.
• Ensure adherence to Change & Release Management processes and GxP compliance requirements.
• Identify release risks and ensure transparent communication of impacts and status to all relevant stakeholders.

2. SAP DevOps & ALM Toolchain

• Support the operation and continuous improvement of the SAP DevOps and ALM toolchain, including:
  • SAP Solution Manager (Focused Build, SolDoc, Change & Release, Test Management)
  • Cloud Transport Management / gCTS
  • ServiceNow
  • Tricentis Tosca
  • Cloud ALM
  • Signavio
  • Celonis

3. Automation & Innovation

• Contribute to automation across release, change, test, and deployment processes.
• Support CI/CD concepts and GenAI-enabled innovation using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot

4. Technical Support to Development Teams

• Support development teams with expertise in:
  • ABAP (OO ABAP, enhancements, transports, dependencies)
  • SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycle and deployment considerations
• Contribute to release-ready architectures, transport strategies, and testability reviews with a focus on operability, releasability, and compliance

5. Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to continuous improvement through:
  • post-release reviews
  • lessons learned
  • measurable quality and automation improvements

6. Collaboration

• Collaborate with:
  • Release Managers
  • System Owners
  • Release/Test Engineers
  • external IT Operations partners, including RISE with SAP

Who You Are

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP Release Management, DevOps, or Technical Delivery, ideally in a regulated ( GxP) environment.

Technical Expertise

• Solid hands-on background in ABAP development
• Good understanding of SAP Fiori/UI5 lifecycles
• Experience with:
  • SAP Solution Manager
  • Cloud Transport Management
  • SAP ALM / DevOps concepts
• Practical experience with:
  • CI/CD
  • test automation (e.g. Tricentis Tosca)
  • release automation

Delivery & Framework Knowledge

• Understanding of:
  • ITIL
  • Agile / SAFe
  • quality frameworks (e.g. ISTQB)

AI & Modern Tooling

• Comfortable using AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar as part of the daily workflow.

Communication & Collaboration

• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across:
  • development
  • QA
  • operations
  • partners
• Experience in international or cross-cultural teams is a plus.

Languages

• Fluent in English (required)
• Spanish is a plus
• Portuguese and German are additional advantages
