– SAP Tax Architect

We are looking for an energetic, detail‑oriented, and technically strong SAP Tax Architect to join our high‑performing team supporting a global pharmaceutical enterprise. The right candidate will bring deep SAP expertise, a passion for innovation, and the ability to design and implement robust, scalable tax solutions across complex business landscapes.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing indirect tax solutions—including platforms such as Vertex and SAP Document & Reporting Compliance. As a Tax Architect within the Technology organization, you will play a key role in guiding the transition from legacy ERP systems (such as SAP ECC) to SAP S/4HANA and ensuring seamless integration of indirect tax solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and configure native tax processes within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem, including integration with Vertex for both input and output tax workflows.
• Collaborate with global business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical specifications.
• Ensure SAP S/4HANA and SAP Document & Reporting Compliance solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Conduct architectural assessments, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) within a scaled Agile framework environment.
• Develop innovative solutions leveraging automation, AI/ML, and leading control practices to accelerate value delivery.

Functional Skills

Must‑Have Skills

• Proven experience implementing and configuring SAP Document and Reporting Compliance modules (e‑invoicing, withholding tax, real-time reporting).
• Hands-on configuration experience with Vertex and integration with SAP platforms such as S/4HANA Core, Ariba, SAP MDG, etc.
• Strong SAP FICO background with knowledge of global tax regulations including VAT/GST, sales tax, and e‑tax standards (e.g., SAF‑T).
• Ability to identify and recommend industry-leading practices for deploying input/output tax processes.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of SAP Advanced Intercompany, SAP Material Ledger, and optimized transfer pricing configurations.
• Experience working with corporate tax automation, reporting tools, and related compliance platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product-based delivery environments.

Professional Certifications

• Certification in Vertex or SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (mandatory).
• Certification in Thomson Reuters (preferred).
• SAP S/4HANA FICO Certification (preferred).

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate with 1+ years of relevant SAP experience OR
• Master’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant SAP experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant SAP experience OR
• Diploma with 10–12 years of relevant SAP experience
