Job Description
For our new Customer, the leading international supplier of power transmission systems, we are seeking a SAP Specialist / Internal Consultant with good experience in Financial & Controlling to join an exciting project in Legnica, Poland. This role will focus on supporting the transition of a newly acquired plant into a standalone business. You will play a critical role in managing operation of SAP Financial and HCM/SuccessFactors areas on S/4HANA and coordinating the work of external service providers for ongoing operational support. As part of this transition, an existing S/4HANA environment will be cloned and re-configured to support new processes. You will be actively involved in both the implementation and the post-transition phase, ensuring that processes under your ownership are effectively aligned and supported in the new system.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management & Operation
• Operate, support, and continuously improve the SAP S/4HANA system with focus on FICO (Finance & Controlling, tax and treasury).
• Ensure availability, performance, and continuity of the SAP systems in a production environment (in alignment with the hosting partner).
• Act as system owner for finance-related modules, driving technical and functional stability.
• Act as subject matter expert for technical questions on (financial) reporting.
Hands-on Configuration, Enhancements & Development
• Independently conduct basic hands-on configuration in FICO modules, based on business requirements.
• Implement and document minor changes, enhancements, and optimizations without reliance on external partners.
• Collaborate with key users and business process owners to translate functional needs into technical solutions.
• Create and maintain functional specifications for development objects where needed.
Operational Support & Problem Solving
• Act as second-level support for SAP FICO-related incidents and requests.
• Manage change requests, create documentation, and execute updates through defined change processes.
• Troubleshoot system issues, analyze root causes, and implement solutions efficiently in alignment with internal and external support teams.
• Perform regular health checks, master data validations, and process monitoring.
Change & Release Management
• Manage SAP change requests, coordinate testing, and ensure proper release into production.
• Document and maintain system configurations and process flows (in alignment with business functions).
Project & Rollout Support
• Participate in SAP S/4HANA projects, including upgrades, rollouts and extensions, with focus on FICO processes.
• Participate in system testing, data migration, and cutover activities as needed.
• Collaborate with business process owners to define and refine end-to-end process flows in production, inventory, and warehouse management.
Integration Management
• Support and maintain interfaces between SAP and third-party systems (e.g., payroll providers, banks and consolidation tools).
• Monitor and troubleshoot data exchange processes, including IDOCs, BAPIs, and APIs.
Requirements:
Education & Certification
• Degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, or similar.
• SAP certifications in FICO preferred.
• Additional training in S/4HANA environment is highly valued.
Professional Experience
• Minimum 5 years of SAP experience, with deep technical and functional knowledge in SAP FICO.
• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA, ideally in a manufacturing or automotive plant context.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and run configuration changes independently, without external consultants.
• Experience with SAP maintenance, system operations, and basic BASIS understanding is a plus.
Technical & Functional Skills
• Solid understanding of business processes in finance and controlling.
• Practical experience in customizing SAP, role-based authorizations, and data management.
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical problem-solving ability and a hands-on, can-do mentality.
• Structured, independent, and reliable working style.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent communication skills in Polish and English language are required.
Optional and beneficial experience
• Basic understanding of SAP HCM and SuccessFactors, allowing basic support and continuous support of the modules and functionalities
• Knowledge of SuccessFactors integration with SAP HCM and cloud-to-on-premise connectivity.
• Experience in acting as system owner for HR-related modules.
• Training and/or certification in SAP SuccessFactors are beneficial.
