Job Description


We are looking for an experienced
SAP S/4HANA Technical Advisor
with a strong background in Clean Core, ABAP Cloud, and SAP BTP architecture, who would join a strategic greenfield S/4HANA implementation project and support an international consulting engagement for a global end-client.
The role focuses on technical governance, architecture advisory, and quality assurance, ensuring that the S/4HANA solution is implemented according to Clean Core principles and modern extensibility standards. You will act as a sparring partner for the Trusted Advisor and development teams, providing guidance, reviews, and recommendations rather than hands-on delivery.
You will join an international team working on a high-impact SAP transformation project and contribute your expertise to building a future-proof and maintainable SAP landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on S/4HANA Clean Core strategy and ensuring compliance throughout the project,

  • Supporting architectural decisions related to ABAP Cloud, SAP BTP, and extensibility approaches,

  • Assessing and recommending on-stack vs. side-by-side extension scenarios,

  • Reviewing custom developments and technical designs for Clean Core compliance,

  • Identifying potential risks, core modifications, and usage of unreleased APIs,

  • Conducting design and code reviews and providing go/no-go recommendations,

  • Mentoring and guiding development teams on modern SAP development practices,

  • Supporting the Trusted Advisor role in technical governance and decision-making.


Requirements


  • Professional Experience & Skills,

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with SAP S/4HANA in technical or architectural roles,

  • Strong, practical knowledge of Clean Core principles,

  • Hands-on experience with ABAP Cloud and ABAP Environment,

  • Solid understanding of SAP BTP architecture and available services,

  • Experience with on-stack and side-by-side extensibility,

  • Knowledge of CAP is a plus,

  • Ability to advise, review, and guide teams rather than act as a delivery developer.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,

  • Advisory mindset with a hands-on approach for mentoring and reviews,

  • Structured, independent, and reliable working style,

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with international technical teams,

  • German – conversational level (required),

  • English – very good.
