Job Description

The SAP S/4HANA QM Consultant designs, configures, implements, and supports Quality Management processes in SAP S/4HANA. The role ensures that quality processes are integrated with procurement, production, warehouse operations, sales, and maintenance to support compliance, product quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP S/4HANA QM solutions.
• Configure and customize SAP QM functionality, including:
• Set up inspection lots for incoming goods, in-process production, final inspection, stock transfers, and customer returns.
• Configure master data such as material masters, inspection plans, master inspection characteristics, catalogs, code groups, and selected sets.
• Integrate QM with:
• Lead workshops, prepare functional specifications, and coordinate with ABAP/Fiori developers for enhancements, forms, reports, interfaces, and workflows.
• Execute unit testing, integration testing, UAT support, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.
• Analyze incidents and provide functional support for QM-related issues.
• Develop user training materials, process documentation, configuration documents, and test scripts.
• Recommend process improvements using S/4HANA capabilities, Fiori apps, embedded analytics, and quality reporting.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in SAP QM configuration within SAP S/4HANA.
• Good knowledge of end-to-end quality processes in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, food, automotive, or similar industries.
• Experience with:
• Solid understanding of SAP integration points with MM, PP, EWM/WM, SD, PM, and Batch Management.
• Experience in at least one full SAP implementation lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support.
• Ability to create functional specifications and work effectively with technical teams.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications and S/4HANA reporting/analytics is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulated quality standards, such as ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, IATF 16949, or HACCP, is advantageous depending on industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, or a related discipline.
• SAP QM certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Typically 4–8+ years of SAP QM consulting or functional support experience, depending on seniority.
