Job Description

Run Stronger. Evolve Faster. Perform Smarter with NRI

Ready to shape what’s next? At NRI, we turn technology into intelligence, delivering solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. Join our team of 3,500+ local experts backed by a global network of 16,000 team members and work on projects that truly make a difference for Australia’s leading organisations.

Our Managed Services team ensures businesses operate at peak efficiency, resilience, and scale. Join us to manage and optimise IT landscapes for leading organisations, delivering seamless, reliable, and measurable outcomes every day.

As part of our Managed Services Enterprise Applications team, the SAP PM / MM Consultant (Functional Consultant) will play a key role in delivering secure, scalable and resilient SAP solutions across our energy and utilities client environments. The role is expected to partner with Maintenance, Operations and Procurement stakeholders to design, configure, and support end-to-end plant maintenance and materials management processes in SAP within NRI's ITIL-managed services framework.

You will be translating requirements into fit-to-standard solutions, configuring core PM/MM functions, and ensuring seamless integration across work orders, parts procurement, inventory movements, and cost capture to FI/CO. The consultant will lead/support testing, deployments, and production support, including incident triage and root cause analysis in collaboration with technical teams. Strong process knowledge, clear documentation, and effective stakeholder communication are required to improve system reliability, user adoption, and operational outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide functional consulting and support for SAP PM/MM processes across incidents, service requests, and minor enhancements.
  • Configure and maintain SAP PM functions (equipment, task lists, maintenance plans, notifications, work orders, confirmations, /settlement where applicable).
  • Configure and support SAP MM functions (material master impacts, purchasing, PR/PO processes, goods receipt, invoice verification basics, MRP touchpoints as applicable).
  • Enable end-to-end maintenance execution with materials/services: planning, reservation, procurement, issue/return, and cost capture to orders/WBS/cost centres.
  • Support plant maintenance and stores integration (catalogues, spare parts strategy, re-ordering, valuation and inventory processes).
  • Prepare functional specifications for enhancements (reports, forms, interfaces, workflows) and coordinate delivery with ABAP/technical teams.
  • Execute and support testing (unit/SIT/UAT), defect triage, cutover preparation, and release deployment; develop test scripts and training materials.
  • Provide production support including root cause analysis, data correction guidance, and user assistance; coordinate with Basis/security for access and technical issues.
  • Maintain functional documentation (configuration workbooks, SOPs/runbooks, process maps) and deliver knowledge transfer to users and support teams.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities (process simplification, mobility/Fiori adoption, automation) and contribute to service improvement and release planning.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years hands-on experience supporting SAP PM and SAP MM on SAP ECC.
  • Strong PM knowledge including
    • Master data: equipment, functional locations, BOMs, measuring points/counters
    • Maintenance processing: notifications, orders (corrective/preventive), permits/isolation touchpoints (where used)
    • Task lists, maintenance plans/strategies, scheduling, confirmations/time
    • Basic cost settlement/technical completion concepts and PM reporting
  • Strong MM knowledge including
    • Procurement cycle: PR → PO → GR → IR (invoice verification exposure desirable)
    • Inventory management: goods movements, reservations, stock types, physical inventory basics
    • Material master fundamentals and organisational structure (plant/storage location/purchasing org)
  • Understanding of PM–MM (spare parts procurement and consumption), PM–FI/CO (order costs), and basic integration with WM/EWM (if applicable).
  • Testing and delivery skills: dev & test, defect management, change/release processes.
  • Documentation capability: functional specs, configuration/workbooks, user guides, training materials.

Desirable

  • Experience providing production support in a 24x7 critical environment and contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL concepts) and ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira).
  • Reporting familiarity: standard PM/MM reports and embedded analytics desirable
  • Exposure to SAP S/4 HANA PM/MM.
  • Experience in the utilities sector.

Why Join Us:

  • Deliver tangible business impact through operational excellence.
  • Work with cutting-edge tools and AI-enabled platforms.
  • Be part of a high-performing, client-obsessed team that values growth and innovation.
