Job Description

The SAP Platform Leader is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise SAP platform strategy, ensuring the platform delivers scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions across the organization. The current ERP platforms, includes SAP ECC, SAP APO, and SAP Solution Manager.

In parallel, you will play a critical role in a major transformation programme aimed at modernising our ECC landscape to SAP S/4HANA, aligned with our long-term growth objectives.

Additionally, you will be accountable for establishing a future-ready service organisation to support the SAP S/4HANA environment. Given the scope and impact, this is a highly strategic and pivotal role, instrumental in enabling digital transformation and sustaining business growth over the coming years.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for business and IT leadership on all ERP service delivery matters, ensuring transparent performance communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional business leaders and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration
  • Translate business priorities and strategies into robust IT roadmaps that support organisational objectives
  • Lead and develop a global team of IT professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, capability building, and continuous learning
  • Lead the global ERP RUN organisation, ensuring effective delivery of services including Incident, Change, Service Request management.
  • Own the SAP Data strategy, governance, and operating model, ensuring high standards of data quality, consistency, integrity, and compliance across SAP landscapes.
  • Oversee the delivery and operational support of SAP integration platforms, middleware, APIs, EDI, and interface services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SLAs, root cause elimination, and delivery of value-added services
  • Provide technical and operational leadership to IT Operations teams, ensuring end-to-end issue resolution and strong emphasis on operational excellence
  • Manage external service providers, including contract governance, SOW management, and performance tracking
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and cybersecurity standards (e.g., SOX, ITGC etc.)
  • Govern system architecture standards and oversee business continuity, risk management, and audit readiness
  • Ensure delivery compliance with healthcare regulations and GxP requirements

Additionally, as part of S4 HANA transformation program, you will be required to

  • Ensuring the successful establishment of the new landscape on SAP RISE with HANA, including the correct system setup
  • Design and development of business roles aligned with defined personas
  • Support across all testing phases including dress rehearsals.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Strong business analysis, problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead, organise and motivate diverse, cross-functional teams in complex environments, providing clear direction and confidence on the path forward
  • Extensive experience managing Application Management Services (AMS) providers, Governance and including offshore delivery models
  • Sound financial acumen, with experience managing both Capex and Opex budgets effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership excellence with a strong focus on talent development, coaching, and building high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated involvement in multiple end-to-end SAP implementation programmes; hands-on experience across full lifecycle delivery is highly desirable
  • Proven success operating within large, distributed, matrixed IT organisations, overseeing both application development and support functions
  • Solid understanding of integration approaches between SAP and external enterprise systems (e.g. middleware, APIs, interfaces)
  • Strong knowledge of global SAP ERP deployment methodologies, ideally within regulated industries (pharmaceutical or MedTech preferred)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a STEM discipline; equivalent experience will be considered
  • 15+ years of progressive IT experience, preferably within MedTech, Life Sciences, or similarly regulated industries
  • 10+ years of ERP experience, with strong working knowledge of SAP ECC environment
  • 3+ years in a Service Operations or IT Service Delivery leadership role, with accountability for outcomes, SLAs and vendor performance
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA transformation or migration programmes is highly advantageous
