As part of Hapag-Lloyd's SAP Team, you are working with colleagues in Gdansk, Chennai, Hamburg and around the globe.

In this role, you are responsible for the entire SAP system landscape as well as all connected platforms across the enterprise. You ensure stable, secure and high performing operations while driving the evolution of our application ecosystem toward a modern, cloud based architecture. As a key architect of our digital transformation project fast4ward a S/4Hana greenfield implementation project, you leverage technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), and innovative integration and automation approaches to modernize, harmonize, and futureproof our environment.

You play a central role in shaping the next generation of our IT landscape. Your work supports cloud readiness, platform harmonization, security improvements, performance optimization, and the adoption of new technologies such as event-driven architecture, API-first integration, and low-code development.

As a strong communicator and leader, you collaborate closely with colleagues from our Infrastructure teams, process owners, external partners and colleagues around the globe. Through your expertise and vision, you ensure that our SAP and cloud platforms evolve into a robust, future-ready ecosystem that supports data-driven decision making and accelerates innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Provide functional and disciplinary leadership for the SAP Basis and SAP BW
• Ensure stable and efficient operations of the entire SAP system landscape (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, SAC, BTP, Datasphere, BDC, etc.)
• Own and evolve the SAP BW architecture, including strategic development and operational governance
• Manage external service providers across hosting, managed services, and project delivery
• Plan and supervise system upgrades, patches, release changes, and system copies
• Ensure platform performance, system security, proactive monitoring, and compliance with internal and external standards
• Drive close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Application teams
• Advise and support executive management on technology strategies and platform decisions
• Oversee budget planning and capacity management within the SAP platform domain
• Continuously modernize and optimize the SAP platform, including cloud adoption, automation, and technical innovation

What you'll need to succeed:

• Several years of experience in the SAP Basis environment – ideally within complex, international system landscapes
• Good knowledge of SAP BW (architecture, operations, data process design)
• Experience as a team lead or in a senior role with leadership responsibility
• Solid expertise in the following areas:
  • System architectures (ERP, BW, PI/PO, S/4HANA, BTP)
  • SAP Datasphere and SAP BDC
  • SAP Security & Authorizations
• Transport management, monitoring, and performance analysis
• Database technologies (HANA)
• Strong experience in working with and managing external service providers
• Experience with SAP RISE contract and operations are an advantage
• Passioned about running high performance systems
• Strong communication skills combined with a hands on mentality
