About the Job

If you are a senior SAP infrastructure expert who enjoys designing resilient platforms, driving cloud transformation, and working on business‑critical systems at global scale, this opportunity is for you.

At Allianz Technology, you will join our Barcelona-based team as a Data Center & Cloud Engineer – Expert, where you will design, operate, and continuously evolve the hybrid data center and public cloud infrastructure that powers Allianz’s global SAP landscapes. You will take a leading role in engineering highly available and secure platforms for SAP HANA, S/4HANA, and NetWeaver services, while driving automation, performance, and cost efficiency.

Working closely with SAP Basis, database, network, and security teams, you will help define global standards, lead cloud migration initiatives, and ensure reliable, compliant, and scalable operations for mission-critical SAP workloads. This role is ideal for professionals who want to combine deep technical expertise with strategic impact in a truly international environment.

What You Do

• Design, build, and operate hybrid data center and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) hosting SAP workloads (HANA, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Fiori), ensuring availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Engineer HA/DR architectures (HANA System Replication, cluster frameworks, multi-AZ/region), backup/restore strategies, and recovery testing for mission-critical SAP systems.
• Plan and execute platform upgrades, migrations, and re-platforming activities (e.g., OS/DB migrations, cloud landing zones, network connectivity such as ExpressRoute/VPN) with minimal downtime.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and maintenance using Terraform and Ansible, leveraging CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
• Implement and monitor SLIs/SLOs using SAP Focused Run and cloud-native tools (e.g., Azure Log Analytics, CloudWatch).
• Drive incident and problem management, including root cause analysis.
• Apply security baselines across SAP platforms: identity and access management, certificates and keys, encryption, patching, vulnerability remediation, and audit/compliance controls.
• Operate enterprise storage and backup solutions (e.g., Azure NetApp Files, snapshots, policy-driven backups).
• Collaborate with global teams and external vendors, maintain runbooks and technical documentation, and mentor engineers to strengthen operational excellence.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience engineering hybrid data center and public cloud infrastructure for SAP workloads at enterprise scale.
• Strong background in Linux administration (SUSE / Red Hat), virtualization (VMware), networking (routing, firewalls, load balancing), and storage for SAP environments.
• Proven experience designing and operating HA/DR solutions for SAP HANA and S/4HANA.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), and Git-based CI/CD workflows.
• Strong cloud expertise in Azure and/or AWS for SAP platforms, including landing zones, VNet/VPC, ExpressRoute/VPN, security groups, managed disks, and Azure NetApp Files.
• Solid security and compliance mindset (SSO/SAML, certificates, patching) and familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and principles, with an interest in driving AI usage on SAP platforms and supporting customer use cases.
