This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) for candidates who are based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH.

Job Introduction:

The Global Finance Technology organization is looking to hire a SAP PaPM Configuration Engineer to the OneGL US Allocations team, supporting the OneGL BAU and US2.2 releases. Under supervision, this individual would be responsible for analyzing, developing, and configuring new use cases utilizing SAP PaPM. This role would entail supporting production users and configuration/testing/training to support maintenance and enhancement of the OneGL finance environment supporting the financial month-end close process.

About the job:

  • Maps business requirements to SAP PaPM system capabilities to support functional and technical solutions.
  • Configures SAP PaPM system settings and options, executes unit and integration testing, and documents functional and technical specifications.
  • Develops understanding of current business processes and system practices to support ongoing configuration and enhancement activities.
  • Performs troubleshooting and resolves defect issues in collaboration with senior team members and subject matter experts.
  • Identifies test scenarios and cases with product owners, executes test cases, documents test results and test scripts, and provides quality assurance results to the business.
  • Supports pieces of the implementation process such as post-implementation support, cutover activities, and documentation.
  • Participates in team discussions around system optimization and efficiency opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3+ years of technical/functional SAP Finance experience.
  • Minimum 1-2+ years of hands-on experience with SAP PaPM configuration, including involvement in at least one implementation or system enhancement.
  • Familiarity with SAP BW, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP HANA SQL, SAP Reporting, or other related tools.

In Addition to the Qualifications Listed Below, the Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:

  • Working understanding of financial transactional flow and SAP general ledger concepts such as company codes, chart of accounts, ledgers, coding blocks, profit centers, cost centers, and currencies.
  • Foundational understanding of financial allocations concepts, including cost allocations, profitability analysis, or related finance functions such as FP&A, management reporting, or financial close processes.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to deepen technical and functional expertise within the SAP PaPM space and broader finance technology landscape.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work with ambiguous and incomplete information.
  • Working knowledge of agile software development concepts including backlog tracking, participation in scrum ceremonies, and incremental delivery.
  • A growth mindset with a desire to develop within the SAP Finance configuration job family, taking on increasing responsibility over time as expertise and confidence grow.
